Betty Swanson, matriarch of her family and a retired municipal administrator from Chauvin, Alberta, experienced unusual shoulder and chest pain one evening in 2022. Trusting her instincts, she sought medical help, leading to a diagnosis of a heart attack. After receiving life-saving care, including stents, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital’s CK Hui Heart Centre, Betty praised the exceptional treatment she received. Inspired by her experience, Betty donated to the hospital to support heart health education and encourage others, especially women, to advocate for their health. She’s asking you to do the same!
